MY SPIRITUAL CORE

I have a profound sense of spirituality...
I find that at my core, I am deeply moved by three great spiritual and philosophical thoughts:
The prime one is...
वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्
Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam
(The World is a Family.)
It is elucidated in the Mahopanisad, a revered Upanishadic text from India. This underlines the philosophy of ONENESS and interconnectedness. It promotes a sense of universal kinship among all living beings and the natural world.
This philosophy tries to foster an understanding that -- the WHOLE OF HUMANITY IS ONE FAMILY.
It is a social philosophy also emanating from a spiritual understanding that -- the whole of humanity and everything else is made of one life energy.
Even Quantum physics echoes this truth -- ALL IS ONE. Whole universe is one. They call it 'Quantum Entanglement.'
My second understanding is that--
“We’re here for a REASON."
I have a strong belief in that.
My conscience reminds me -- "No matter if you can't shine like a sun, you can still glow like an earthen lamp. All you need is, to walk on the path of truth and dharma (righteousness)."
Maybe the reason of my being here, is to throw little torches out to lead people through the dark, as Whoopi Goldberg has said.
Third...
The inspiring words of Swami Vivekananda are forever etched in my mind,
“Arise, awake, stop not till the goal is reached!”
A HUMBLE BEGINNING
Born and brought up in a small village, I had a very simple childhood where my parents lived in a joint family.
As I remember, I seemed to have no special talent... except fiercely competing with three brothers and cousins.
Irony is that I had more than 15 of them among them all. Being the only girl child, I always had to compete and fight to get my way with them. They would take care of me as their sister, but I had to fight for my identity, a place among them.
My own interest in education was mediocre, I guess. But...
My father being a school-teacher, was very aware of our development. He would share all kind of news, info, and stories with us, so as to build a curious attitude in us for all things.
In my village, people would not allow their daughters to go beyond primary schooling in those day. But my father held his ground and decided to support my studies as long as I wanted.
He also chose my destiny to be a computer professional when he sent me away from home to study computers.
But computers did not come easy to me, as I lacked access to personal computer. So, everything was just bookish for me...

When I came back after 3-4 years, I got tied in the knot of marriage.
As destiny would have its way back to me, my husband was working with a computer institution. That's where, my serious working with computers began.
I had to endure the hardship of travelling to 60-Km to another town each day, soon after to sustain my learning of IT.
Next, I had to move to New Delhi, the capital of India, in 2003. I felt lost in such a big city, because I was shy, nervous and lacked confidence to deal with smart people of a metro city.
One day, my husband came back home with some critical information...
A REPORT THAT CHANGED MY LIFE
He had read a new report (maybe from IDC) which stated that--
There were only 2,500 skilled security professionals in the whole world.... plus approximately 10,000 semi-skilled IT professionals in network security domain. There was a severe shortage of security people worldwide... Please note, it was year 2005.
He asked me to consider if I would want to be the one. I took time and decided to have a go for it.
Till then, I had been focusing on software and languages like C, C++, Core Java, etc... But now, I needed to leave it behind and switch to learning 'Networking' from scratch.
I purchased a used copy of Networking Fundamentals... and found the field interesting.
Soon, I got myself enrolled in training programs for CCNA and MCSE. It took me more than two years in obtaining all those certifications. I was very consistent and diligent... in following my routines of late-night studies, I slept a lot less.
I also worked for FREE with an IT firm for 6-months at my own cost. But I gained some valuable experience. This effort also opened new vistas and new opportunities for me. I learned how to handle technology in real-life. I also learned how to work in team with fellow network engineers. I learned how to deal with people of authority at client sites...

Eventually, I got hired as a Corporate Trainer -- Cisco domain, by the best IT training institution in India. They were great guys! They taught me the art of delivering world-class bootcamps of Cisco technologies. I am so grateful to them... They encouraged me, supported me... and helped unleash my potential.
They also inspired me to get CCNP certs. I did that. I even cleared the CCIE (written) exam...and was planning to go for labs.
But a pivot occurred, a point of vital importance in my career trajectory.
My mentor gave me the idea of going for CCNA Security and CEH etc, at the same time. Wasn't Network Security the same idea which made me enter into networking in the first place?
I had forgotten it, but my mentor did not. His advice was always pure gold to me.
I got mesmerized and enchanted by the security domain.
In my profession, I was doing everything correct.
But my personal life was not fulfilling.
I had a deep hallow inside me, because...
I never could have a baby, three miscarriages, you know...
After nine years of my marriage, the grace bestowed upon me. I was blessed, when I became a proud mother of a baby boy, my son 'Suryansh.'
But my professional life took a beating, when I lost my job which I loved so much. Because I was not able to cope up with the demands of my job and being a mother of an infant kid.
What a twist of life...!!!
We even had a debt of INR 3,70,000 at that time. We were broke. That's why, I had to pursue some petty jobs to survive...
And then I lost my meager job too...
In the aftermath of US slowdown, my husband was already jobless. Both of us faced a long array of rejections in job-interviews. We were still deep in debt... All our savings lost... insurance covers lost. We were desperate... we wanted something to work for us.

Well, in 2013, my husband and I decided to go for building our own company Luminis (the light). We never made any money for the next three years. We felt suffocated, we were tired of severe cash crunch.
Though we were not making money, we learned a great deal in the process. We intensified everything we were trying to do.
This was the time, when I drifted into cybersecurity with complete focus. Meanwhile I continued with delivering my training programs of CCNA, CCNP and MCSE.
I was hell-bent to build knowledge of network security, firewalls, and related fields. I also leaned Ethical Hacking. But learning security technologies was nowhere easy...
Because I could not find any roadmap to learn cybersecurity. That's why, it took me many years to decode the right path going forward.
I enrolled in many professional training programs, one after another. Many of them were not fruitful, but some were very accurate for my learning curve.
I value SPEED and TIME in my life. My progress has forever depended on these two things. My gritty stubbornness allows me to do that.
What's next?

Well, slow and slow, things started coming back to life. Our persistence and hard work started to pay off. Though it was still not much, but enough to inspire us to work extra hard.
I started to get hold of CRITICAL PIECES of cybersecurity. It revitalized my efforts... soon I cut across the puzzle and learned everything that was important.
I became a very active participant in Linkedin discussions.
Soon, I began to realize that a huge number of IT professionals have almost NO IDEA of... how to go about building cybersecurity SKILLS in a proper step-by-step fashion.
I took the initiative of sharing my knowledge with the world, on social media.
Then, people started paying attention to what I was trying to communicate. The Facebook page was soon being followed by more than 10,000 people. It was their endorsement of my messages pertaining to cybersecurity.
I am so grateful to my 35,000+ followers at Facebook... and 17,000+ followers on Linkedin. They eagerly wait for my new posts or videos. They are awesome people... I love them so much!
A great moment in my cybersecurity journey came recently... when I decided to conduct a masterclass in cybersecurity.
What a great success it has turned out to be... my Cyberwarrior's Cybersecurity Breakthrough Masterclass (CBM)!
What a power-packed coaching program it has become now...
You will fall in love with the depth of cybersecurity knowledge... and REAL-LIFE implementable skills it delivers to you.
I guess, it's enough!
I am sure, you now know everything important about me.
Well, I am also looking forward to know you...
With thanks,
MEENA
